Feeling welcome in the operating room
From December 2025 to March 2026, I had the opportunity to spend three wonderful months participating in the Observership Program at Chulalongkorn University. It was an academically enriching experience, but above all, it was a truly special time on a personal level!
One of the highlights for me was the wide range of surgical procedures I was able to observe. As a student, I always felt very welcome in the operating room, and the doctors took the time to explain many aspects. This made the learning experience especially valuable and engaging.
On campus, I also had great opportunities to study in the library and in the cafés, where I could also connect with other students and the coffee shop’s very nice employees. I am especially grateful to the International Office and Ms. Nutchanat for their excellent support throughout the program. Thanks to their efforts, I was able to meet many other international students during the welcome events and even learn some basic Thai in the Thai language classes.

During my clinical rotations, I also formed meaningful friendships with Thai students, which greatly enriched my stay. Together with both international and local students, we met several times for dinner, creating many memorable moments. A particularly special highlight was a Thai cooking class organized by the faculty, which we were spontaneously invited to by a Thai friend.
Overall, I look back on my time in Bangkok with great positivity and gratitude. I can highly recommend this program to anyone interested in gaining both professional experience and cultural insight.

Living in the Blue Dorm was also perfect for us. It was very close to the hospital and located in a great area of the city. We especially enjoyed visiting the small market there every Wednesday and attending the free concerts in Lumphini Park on Sundays.
Thank you very much for this unforgettable experience!
